Reared in nearby fields close to Marriner HQ, this wool has been spun using the fleece of their very own flock.
The flock of lovely Romney Marsh ladies was welcomed into the Marriner family in the summer of 2018.
After each shearing, their fleece is carefully gathered, and then taken to be washed, processed, and finally, spun into Marriner’s very own 100% natural Aran wool. You can’t get more traditional than that.
The Romney Marsh sheep are renowned for their adaptable fleece, which has a semi-lustrous appearance, and a lovely natural cream colour. It’s also considered to be of finer quality at around 32 microns – whereas other typical sheep breeds are around 50 microns.
We are very proud to offer Marriner’s first home-grown 100% wool product to our customers – as well as continuing to offer our trademark excellent value.
